Case Studies: Siemens
Project: To introduce a range of IP54 cabinets for the installation of high
voltage switch gear and control equipment in various substations throughout the
UK for the national grid.
The cabinets are replacing legacy equipment that will be condensed into a single
47U rack with full state of the art monitoring and sensing equipment.
Cooper B-Line: Cooper B-Line worked jointly with Peter Thorpe’s team in designing
a full as fitted cabinet that will enable equipment to be quickly mounted and
connected for rapid deployment. B-Line worked with Siemens in developing a
cabinet that was not only flexible in its design approach but had modular panel
design for multiple fit-outs.
To-date, Cooper B-Line have deployed over 100 of these cabinets with continual
modification and adaptation for roll-out into 2006.
